Chijioke O. Nduaka

Founder & President

He is the founder and president of Hoopz to Greatness - African Basketball Camp. With a professional background in finance and corporate culture, Chijioke created the idea to develop Hoopz to Greatness in 2015. Since then, Chijioke's vision for Hoopz to Greatness has been to empower the youth in Nigeria and all over Africa with education and basketball. With his extensive corporate experience at major Fortune 500 corporations, Chijioke will help the organization make crucial decisions, reduce risk and expand the camps. A native of Nigeria, Chijioke's passion is give back to such a place that has given his so much in his youth. His heart is to make it a better place. In his spare time Chijioke enjoys reading, sports, music, traveling and teaching. Chijioke resides in the DC metropolitan area with his wife.

Bayyinah Monk-Nduaka

Executive Director

Bayyinah oversees the general operations of the organization. A native of Philadelphia, PA, her diverse career has spanned from everything being a mortgage consultant at JP Morgan Chase; owning a successful catering company; a licensed funeral director to becoming a best-selling author and entrepreneur. With a B.S. in Economics & Business Administration from Otterbein University and an A.A. in Mortuary Science from Briarwood College, Bayyinah always had the desire to help make the world a better place. In her spare time, she enjoys music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Bayyinah resides in the Washington, DC metropolitan area with her husband Chijioke family.

Janet Gracey

International Liaison Consultant

Janet is our international liaison consultant. After completing a BS Honors in Applied Psychology, she spent 5 years working in various cities across the globe, in the corporate world of media and publishing. Whilst to the world it appeared she had "succeeded in life", Janet felt a sense of unfulfillment with the life she was living. It was from this feeling, she would make a commitment to discovering who she really was. Today Janet is a Master Reiki Teacher, Life Coach and Energy worker, whose life purpose is now directed towards helping others discover who they really are, hold your own worthiness and magnificence, to live the life of fearless freedom. A native of Ireland, Janet currently resides in Northern Ireland with her daughter.

 

Hauwa Abdulrahaman Girei

Africa Regional Coordinator - Nigeria (Abuja)

Hauwa is our regional coordinator in Abuja, Nigeria.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Entreprenuership from Nassarawa State University.  Mrs. Hauwa is currently an intern at the Code of Conduct Bureau in Abuja, Nigeria.  As an entreprenuer, she is also a certified professional make-up artist.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading and traveling.  Hauwa is happily married and resides with her husband in Abuja, Nigeria.

Joelle Nshimba

Communications Intern

Joelle is our communications intern. In 2017, she graduated from the Pedagogical Institute of Gombe, in Kinshasa, Congo, with a B.S. in Business Administration. Previously, she was also president of the Children's Ministry at the New Methodist Church-Baraka in Kinshasa. Currently enrolled in the Georgia Tech Language Institute English program, Joelle has a passion for helping people in need, all over the world. In her spare time. Joelle enjoys dance, traveling and being physically active.

Stephanie Solomon

Social Media Intern

Stephanie is our social media intern.  She is a senior in college studying communications and minoring in psychology.  Stephanie is passionate about making a positive difference in the world and very excited to be involved with the social media of Hoopz to Greatness. In her spare time, she enjoy concerts, photography, staying active and traveling.

Martin Kofi Tawiah

Africa Regional Coordinator - Accra, Ghana

Martin is our Regional Coordinator in Ghana.  His passion is helping the youth to discover their worthiness and to help them unearth their talent to live a purposeful and more fulfulling life.  Martin received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science in 2001.  He recently aquired his Post Graduate Diploma in Education in 2018.  Professionally, Mr. Martin is currently a teacher in the Ghana Education Service.  He  also gives his spare time to volunteer with Service to Mankind Farms as a Marketing Manager and as a Charity Manager at Accra Book Festival.  In his spare time he enjoys reading, music, traveling, sports and watching movies.  Mr. Martins reside in the Accra metro area with his wife and children.

Henchard O. Michael Onwumere

African Regional Coordinator

Henchard is our African Regional Coordinator. He has a B.A. Honors degree in English & Literary Studies from Abia State University. He is a founding member of Nos Cura Foundation, a health and literacy foundation to help Nigeria's children attain better health and education. He has the heart to help children/youth who are less fortunate. Henchard has an extensive career as a successful businessman. He brings the Nigerian business and expertise to the organization. His hobbies include songwriting, singing, reading, and musical entertainment. Henchard lives in Lagos, Nigeria with his wife and children.
